The assortment then consisted of jewelry from selected manufacturers that my mother and I got to know at fairs and trips around the world.

Now we look back and present jewelry from the time when it all began. (Selected models in timeless design that feel more current than ever!)
Anno 2009 is also a tribute to my beloved mother who passed away four years ago. Mom was my biggest supporter, source of inspiration and the one who introduced me to this enchanting and lustful world - silver jewellery.

A tribute to the time when it all began

On a sunny Easter day in 2009, Mila Silver opened a summer shop in the holiday paradise of Båstad. The store with the sunny yellow facade filled with silver jewelry was the starting point for Mila Silver.
The assortment then consisted of jewelry from selected manufacturers that my mother and I got to know at fairs and trips around the world.

Now we look back and present Anno 2009 - selected jewelery in timeless design from the time when it all began.
Anno 2009 is also a tribute to my beloved mother who passed away four years ago. Mom was my biggest supporter, source of inspiration and the one who introduced me to this enchanting and lustful world - silver jewellery.

What does 925 Sterling silver mean?

Silver, which is called Argentum in Latin, is a metallic element that belongs to the group of precious metals and the group of coin metals. Silver is used for jewellery , tableware and ornaments but more than 60% of the available silver is consumed in the electronics and photography industries.

The most common silver quality in jewelry is called 925 sterling silver and consists of 92.5% silver, the remaining percentage is copper and other metals.
Sterling silver is declared in silver jewelery with the stamp 925. This is what we usually call real silver.
Silver in its purest form is very soft. Therefore, the silver is mixed with other metals to obtain durable jewelry and products.
The limit to be called silver is at the silver content of 83%, the remaining 17% is usually copper. 830 silver is called workshop silver and is the most common fineness in edible silver.
925 Sterling silver is whiter and softer to process than sterling silver and is best suited for jewelry making.

Can you shower with 925 silver

Silver can withstand water and you can shower with real silver jewellery. If your jewelry has stones or pearls, be more careful. Avoid swimming in chlorinated water and swimming in oceans or lakes that can discolor the silver.
